Mount Gravatt House has been the treasured home of a family of four for many years.  As the two children approached teenage-hood the clients felt it was time to extend the house and create a home that could offer their growing girls more space and privacy as teenagers, while also improving the connection between the living areas and private areas of the house.  A new self contained granny flat was added to the brief and currently functions as a separate home office.   Care was taken to preserve as much of the landscaping as possible, new views were carefully curated between the different wings of the house and services were streamlined to allow for ease of use of the space.   Large corner windows maximize views and daylight and the existing open verandah was roofed over to create a large outdoor living space.
